Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have brought closure to their extended legal clash involving the Miraval estate.
The two, who have been embroiled in a long legal battle following their separation, have come to an agreement.
After suspending the production of his movie due to an actors’ strike, Brad Pitt and his partner, Ines de Ramon chose to visit his cherished 990-acre Chateau Miraval estate in southern France. The property, which had been a point of contention, is owned by both Angelina and Brad.
After seven years of legal wrangling, marked by disagreements over custody and financial matters, both parties have found common ground.
Angelina Jolie, acknowledging the escalating legal expenses, consented to mediation to resolve the Miraval lawsuit. This lawsuit stemmed from Brad Pitt’s claims that Jolie had deliberately sold her portion of the $164 million business.
The estate, where Pitt and Jolie’s wedding took place in 2014 became the center of their financial dispute. At first, Pitt offered Jolie $54.5 million for her share, but the deal encountered obstacles due to ongoing custody proceedings.
Amidst legal accusations and counterclaims, the situation escalated, involving external parties and further complicating the matter.
The accumulated legal costs prompted Jolie to reconsider her stance, leading to the recent resolution. While the negotiations were challenging, the final agreement might involve Jolie maintaining primary custody of their minor children, with Pitt acquiring complete control of Miraval for a reported $250 million settlement.
As the dust settles on one of Hollywood’s enduring separations, Pitt is reportedly relieved to finally conclude this chapter of his life. With the estate becoming his sole ownership, Pitt can now look ahead to rebuilding his relationship with his children and moving on from the protracted legal conflicts that have marked his recent years.
