A distressing event transpired in Cohasset, Massachusetts, on August 31. A two-year-old boy faced a fatal accident when trapped under construction equipment at Hajj Auto Service. The incident was reported to have happened around 12:40 pm, as per information provided by Cohasset’s Chief of Police, William Quigley.
The grandfather of the child, who also owns Hajj Auto Service, brought the boy to the nearby police station. From there, arrangements were made to transfer the child to South Shore Hospital. Regrettably, upon reaching the facility, the young boy was determined to be deceased.
In a subsequent media interaction, Chief Quigley pointed out that all indications suggest the incident was accidental, with no malicious elements involved. He also highlighted the emotional strain the incident placed on observers. Specifically, one employee present during the accident sought medical aid due to shock. It was also revealed that the Cohasset Police Department was not immune to the emotional strain, with an officer taking time off.
The ongoing investigation aims to clarify the circumstances leading up to this accident. Both state police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are actively involved.
