A 69-year-old sports photographer died on Friday, September 8, following an accident on September 4, where she was knocked over by football players during a junior varsity game in Kansas..

Linda Gregory was hit in a game between Wichita Northwest High School and Bishop Carroll High. Her husband, Mel Gregory, shared the information on Facebook.

A representative from Wichita Northwest High School acknowledged Linda’s longstanding role as a photographer for the institution.

As she was capturing moments from the game, players, who ran out of the playing area, accidentally collided with her, according to the football team’s coach, Steve Martin. She fell and hit her head on the concrete, sustaining a concussion.

After the incident, Linda was immediately taken to a local hospital. Her condition deteriorated over time. Her husband, who ran a photography business alongside his wife, provided regular health updates on Facebook. He revealed that Linda was in intensive care due to brain bleeding and was subsequently placed on life support.

By Wednesday, Linda was surrounded by her children, family, friends, and colleagues. On Friday, her passing was announced. That evening, Wichita Northwest High School commemorated Linda Gregory’s contributions and her affection for the athletes at their football game.

In appreciation of the support from the community, Mel Gregory conveyed his intention to establish a foundation to assist aspiring photographers through scholarships.
