A teenager from Texas, aged 17, earlier thought to have been abducted, has been discovered and is now potentially implicated in murder charges. This charge is also extended to a 21-year-old male who remains at-large.
Arturo Pena, 21, was fatally shot, and the Garland Police Department has associated both the teenager and the man with the incident.
In the early hours of Friday, September 1, an AMBER Alert was dispatched by the Dallas Police Department for Natalie Navarro following her disappearance from an apartment in east Dallas. During the period of the alert, Navarro was already a suspect in Pena’s killing. Reports state that she was located in Webb County within an hour’s time.
At the moment, Navarro is held by the police, but she has not been formally indicted, as shared by Lt. Richard Maldonado of the Garland Police Department. Given the seriousness of the crimes linked to her, the court will recognize her as an adult. Yordy Martinez, 21, previously presumed to have kidnapped Navarro, remains missing and is also implicated in the murder of Pena.
Martinez, believed to be potentially driving a gray sedan, is regarded as dangerous and possibly armed. He can be identified by a gap in his front teeth. Martinez’s criminal background includes an indictment last year for firing a weapon inside a dwelling.
Arturo Pena, from Mesquite, Texas, was discovered in Audubon Park on the morning of August 29 with a gunshot wound. Merely two days before this, his family had approached the Dallas Police Department to report him as missing. The dynamics between Pena, Navarro, and Martinez are still ambiguous. “We’re looking to shed light on their relationship and the underlying motive as we continue our investigation with Navarro,” mentioned Lt. Maldonado.
Veronica Lopez, Pena’s girlfriend, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to aid their family.
