A six-year-old boy from Georgetown, Texas, is in critical condition after being struck in the head with a baseball bat.
The distressing event transpired on September 11 at Rock Mill Loop.
Daniel Logan, 39, reportedly entered the residence of Jeremy Tang Diaz early in the morning at around 5 am.
Upon gaining entry, Logan is said to have assaulted the young boy with a baseball bat.
Jeremy’s parents, Yilin and Arturo Diaz, were also the intended targets but successfully evaded being struck. Jeremy sustained significant injuries, resulting in a coma.
Prior to this incident involving the Diaz family, it is reported that Logan assaulted his own mother, Cynthia Logan. Her injuries include a broken tooth, a facial cut, and notable swelling around her left eye.
Following the events, authorities apprehended Logan. He is presently facing legal charges, specifically injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon towards a family member.
On September 21, it was reported that the child is being weaned off his ventilator as his condition improves.
A fundraising campaign via GoFundMe has been set up to assist with his medical expenses and recovery process.
The authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation of the entire incident. The motive behind Logan’s reported actions is yet to be determined.
