On the evening of Friday, September 1, a gruesome discovery was made inside a vehicle at Spirit Park on Ridgeview Drive in Allen, Texas. Responding to a reported shooting at around 6:35 pm, law enforcement arrived at the scene. 

Inside the vehicle, officers discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds. Despite immediate response and assistance by Allen Fire Rescue, all three individuals were declared dead on location. 

While the police have yet to officially release the identities of the victims, sources relayed to CBS News Texas that the incident involved a mother who allegedly shot her two children before turning the weapon on herself.

A similar tragic event took place in Allen merely four days prior. A family of four, living on Aberdeen Drive, were found deceased in what investigators deduced to be a murder-suicide. This family consisted of a husband and wife along with their two male children, ages 12 and 2. This tragedy reportedly followed the drowning of their four-year-old daughter earlier in the month. The grief and trauma resulting from their daughter’s loss are believed to have influenced the following tragic event.
