Two years have passed since the discovery of human remains in a basement freezer in London. The individual was later identified as Roy Bigg, who vanished in 2012.

On October 15, 2021, construction workers came across the remains in a structure formerly used as a wine bar. Dental records played a crucial role in confirming Bigg’s identity, establishing that he was approximately 70 years old when he died.

Despite comprehensive inquiries and numerous media calls to the public, the perpetrator behind Bigg’s death remains unidentified. Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen has pointed out that even with considerable data about Bigg’s past, public assistance is vital in tracking down those involved in his death.

Between 2012 and 2021, there’s a noticeable absence of details or confirmed sightings of Bigg. This nearly ten-year gap in his history remains a significant challenge in the case. Based on the time frame since his disappearance and the nature of his discovery, investigators deduce that Bigg might have been in the freezer for many years. Medical examinations have yet to determine a definitive cause of death.

Bigg’s last known location, an abandoned wine bar in Forest Gate, east London, holds potential clues. By revisiting places Bigg frequented and talking to those acquainted with him, officials hope to pinpoint the last time he was seen alive. To facilitate the collection of more information and to ensure justice for Roy Bigg, the Metropolitan Police have pledged a £20,000 reward. This sum is available to anyone offering details resulting in the apprehension, indictment, and conviction of those accountable for his passing.

Officials stress the importance of public involvement and encourage individuals with any related knowledge to participate in the investigation.
