On Monday, October 2, 2023, a devastating accident transpired on State Road 195 in South Sardinia, Italy. Two supercars, a Lamborghini and a Ferrari, and a camper van became entangled in the collision. The accident caused the deaths of two individuals.

Footage from a driver on the same highway depicted the two supercars surpassing his vehicle. Following the overtaking of his car, the clip displayed the cars surpassing a white camper van. In the progression of the video, the red Ferrari escalated its speed and neared the blue Lamborghini as both were in the midst of overtaking the camper.

This resulted in a collision between the two luxury cars. Following the impact, the Lamborghini rammed into the camper van’s rear end. The contact led the camper’s back to elevate and momentarily rest on its front tire before it turned on its side.

Close behind, the Ferrari also rolled over and ignited.

The authorities named the Ferrari’s occupants as Swiss visitors, Melissa, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67. Tragically, both died in the crash.

The couple in the camper, Lorenzo Mascarin, 62, and his wife suffered only minor bruises. Mascarin conveyed the abruptness of the event, expressing astonishment over their capsized camper and the sight of the ablaze Ferrari post-accident.

The Lamborghini’s passengers, Gayatri Joshi, a Bollywood actress known from the film “Swades,” and her spouse, tycoon Vikas Oberoi, emerged unharmed. Subsequent to the incident, Italian prosecutors initiated a ‘double road homicide’ inquiry. If prosecuted and declared guilty, Oberoi could encounter a maximum of seven years imprisonment.

The automobiles were part of the Sardinia Supercar Tour, an occasion allowing enthusiasts to hire luxury vehicles and tour the isle. The cause and specifics of the accident are under examination.
