A 24-year-old mother of three and well-regarded cheerleading coach from Jasper, Texas, was found dead over the weekend by police.
Authorities discovered Rosalin “RoRo” Lewis’ body in the early hours of Saturday morning, November 18, 2023, at her residence in the Myrtis Village apartments in Jasper.
Lewis, known for her dedication to cheerleading and her impact on the local youth, was found to have been beaten to death.
The Jasper Police Department responded to the scene and, following an investigation, arrested 23-year-old William Christian Thomas of Livingston. Thomas, Lewis’ boyfriend, has been charged with her murder and is currently being held in Jasper County Jail on a $1 million bond.
The nature of the crime, reportedly a brutal attack with a hammer, has only added to the community’s grief and disbelief. Lewis, remembered for her vibrant presence and commitment to coaching, leaves behind three young children, five-year-old Kaelum, three-year-old Aria, and two-year-old Alakai.
The funeral service is scheduled for November 25, 2 pm at Faith Temple Church on Pollard Street in Jasper, under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary.
The Jasper community, while mourning, has also been galvanized into action, with calls for support and prayers for the bereaved family.
As the investigation continues, the Jasper Police Department has not released further details about the circumstances leading to Lewis’s death.
