On November 17, 2023, Carrollton Police in Texas responded to a violent domestic dispute where a woman reportedly stabbed her spouse and then drove a car containing her three kids into a nearby lake.

According to police, Wei Fen Ong allegedly stabbed her husband at their home on Tall Knight Lane. The victim, whose name has not been released, had called the police himself to report the stabbing and was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries. 

Shortly after the stabbing, police in Lewisville, a neighboring town, received a distressing 911 call that the same woman, identified as Ong, had driven a vehicle into a nearby lake with her children, aged eight, nine, and 12, inside. The lake, located near the 900 block of Hebron Parkway in Lewisville, became the center of an intense rescue operation.

First responders, including police and local fire rescue units, rushed to the scene. The children were rescued from the submerged vehicle. One of the children was in critical condition, while the other two were declared stable. The circumstances leading to the vehicle’s entry into the lake are still under investigation.

Ong was taken to a hospital and then into custody. She is being held at the Denton County Detention Facility, facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charges may be updated as the investigation unfolds.

Eyewitness accounts and police reports indicate that the oldest child managed to free himself from the vehicle while an officer rescued another child, who was unconscious, and performed CPR to revive the child. A third child was rescued by firefighters.
