Brooke Gomez, a well-known interior designer in New York City, New York, recognized for her work with celebrities including Bethenny Frankel, Michael J. Fox, and Sigourney Weaver, passed away in her Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan, New York, on November 19, 2023.
Gomez’s absence was noted after she had not been in contact with anyone for more than a week.
Responding to a 911 call at approximately 8:01 pm, the New York City Police Department discovered her in a state of decomposition. Emergency medical services declared her deceased at the location.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified chronic alcohol use as the cause of death for Gomez, 49. Law enforcement officials have stated that the nature of her passing does not raise suspicions of foul play or criminal involvement.
Gomez’s professional journey in interior design extended for over 20 years, starting in 2001 at Gomez Associates, her mother’s firm. In 2019, she established Brooke Gomez Design, where she quickly rose to fame for her unique approach and high-profile client base. In the aftermath of Gomez’s death, it was discovered that her Brussels Griffon, named Edie, had been left alone in the apartment. The dog managed to survive a week without food and has been taken in by the wife of the building superintendent.
