In a tragic incident in Trussville, Alabama, a five-year-old girl was found unresponsive in a laundry hamper at her home on the morning of November 13, 2023.
Authorities, including the Trussville Police Department, have initiated an investigation into the matter, currently treated as an accidental death.
The incident occurred in Trussville’s Hawk Ridge neighborhood at about 6:30 a.m. The child, Khloe Teresa Williamson, was discovered by her family and swiftly taken to St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama by emergency services. However, she was declared dead at the hospital at 7:17 am.
The initial autopsy findings by Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates and Trussville Police Chief Eric Rush showed no signs of trauma or foul play. The cause of death is pending, subject to further laboratory analyses, including toxicology testing.
Khloe was a kindergarten student in the Trussville City Schools district and the daughter of a teacher. Her loss has profoundly impacted the community.
