An 81-year-old man was arrested following a violent altercation that left his daughter seriously wounded.
Floyd Allen Seay, an 81-year-old resident of Nashville, Tennessee, was arrested after a confrontation that severely injured his daughter outside their home.
Responding to a domestic disturbance call on Monday, November 27, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm, Metro Nashville Police arrived at the 3000 block of Louise Drive. There, they found Seay’s daughter with multiple stab wounds in her chest, lower neck, and cheek, necessitating immediate medical attention at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The incident began with a verbal dispute and quickly escalated. Seay grabbed his daughter’s head, pulling her down and repeatedly striking her face. The violence intensified when Seay re-entered the home, armed himself with a kitchen knife, and continued attacking his daughter, stabbing her several times.
Following the incident, Seay gave the knife to a neighbor and shockingly admitted his intent to kill.
During the subsequent police investigation, Seay confessed to intentionally using the knife, although he expressed uncertainty about his reasons for grabbing it. Disturbingly, he showed willingness to commit the act again.
This arrest has shed light on a concerning history of domestic disturbances at the Seay residence, with over 50 calls in the past year, including 24 for domestic issues.
Currently, Floyd Allen Seay is detained in Metro Jail on a bond of $500,000.
