A 19-year-old Brazilian influencer passed away due to complications following an emergency liver transplant, as confirmed by her father, Vitor Valim.

Vitor Valim, the mayor of Caucaia, Ceará, Brazil, announced his daughter’s death through an Instagram post on December 9, 2023. He expressed deep sorrow and appreciation for the support and prayers during their trying time.

Maria Sofia Valim, an aspiring lawyer and social media personality, gained popularity for her posts on travel, fitness, skin care, and high-end brands. Her Instagram, boasting over 100,000 followers, reflected her dynamic lifestyle and passions.

Her health issues began in early December, culminating in a critical need for a liver transplant. On December 5, Vitor Valim informed the public about her condition and the urgent requirement for a transplant.

A matching donor was located, leading to a successful surgery. However, Maria Sofia’s health remained precarious, particularly in the 48 hours post-surgery, a crucial period for monitoring organ acceptance.

Despite the transplant’s initial success, Maria Sofia succumbed to post-operative complications. Her last Instagram update before her health problems was from November 25, and showed her enjoying a Taylor Swift concert in Brazil.

The news of her passing has led to an influx of condolences from fans and fellow influencers, including Livia Benocio and Giovanna Freitas, who shared heartfelt tributes.
