A devastating small aircraft accident in the Caribbean Sea resulted in the death of four individuals, including a well-known actor and his two young daughters.

The fatal incident unfolded just off the coast of Bequia, a part of the Grenadines island chain within the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, shortly past noon on on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

As per official reports, the victims included Christian Klepser, a 51-year-old U.S. citizen and Hollywood actor known as Christian Oliver, and his daughters, Madita Klepser, 12, and Annik Klepser, 10. Robert Sachs, the pilot and owner of the plane, also lost his life in the accident.

Oliver, renowned for his performances in films such as “Speed Racer” and “Valkyrie,” and TV shows like “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” was a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.

Born as Christian Klepser in Frankfurt, Germany, Oliver had established his career in both American and German cinema. His recent contributions included a role in the 2020 film “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” and voice acting roles in popular video games such as “Call of Duty” and “Medal of Honor.”

The single-engine aircraft had started its journey from J.F. Mitchell Airport, bound for St. Lucia. It began to experience technical issues shortly after takeoff and crashed into the sea approximately one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis, a private island near Bequia.

Local fishermen and divers from the Paget Farm community nearby were quick to reach the crash site to provide aid. The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard led the search and rescue operations. Sadly, all four passengers were found dead amongst the wreckage.

The investigation into the crash is being handled by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.
