Alec Musser, an actor recognized for his portrayal of Del Henry in the renowned soap opera “All My Children,” has died at his home in Del Mar, California at the age of 50.
Musser’s uncle, and his fiancée, Paige Press, confirmed the unfortunate news of his death that occurred on the night of January 12-13, 2024. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause was suicide. Press found him on the bathroom floor with a self-inflicted wound, and a shotgun next to him.
Musser’s career began in fitness modeling before he transitioned into acting, a transition that led to his notable success.
At the age of 31, he secured the role of Del Henry in “All My Children,” a role he won after succeeding in the reality television show “I Wanna Be a Soap Star” during its second season in 2005. His participation in 43 episodes of the soap opera between 2005 and 2007 earned him a considerable fan base.
Although Musser’s screen time decreased in later years, he still made noteworthy appearances in popular television shows like “Desperate Housewives,” “Rita Rocks,” and in the movie “Road to the Altar.”
He also featured in the 2010 film “Grown Ups,” penned by Adam Sandler. Sandler praised Musser as a “wonderful, funny good man” and “a true great sweetheart of a person,” speaking highly of his performance.
Musser was also a prominent figure in the fitness world, being featured on the covers of several fitness magazines, including Men’s Health and Men’s Workout. His dedication to bodybuilding and fitness was evident in his lifestyle.
Musser’s love for skiing, surfing, his family, and dogs was evident on his social media platforms, as was his fitness journey. His final social media post, shared a few days before his death, showcased him surfing on a hoverboard, a testament to his adventurous nature.
The news of Musser’s death has led to a wave of tributes from his fans, friends, and coworkers.
Paige Press, his fiancée, expressed her deep grief through a series of Instagram stories, stating her unending love for Musser by saying, “I am never taking off my ring.”
