Actress Cindy Morgan, recognized for her roles in “Caddyshack” and “Tron,” passed away on December 30 at the age of 69.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in Florida confirmed Morgan’s death, attributed to natural causes. A roommate discovered her dead in her room.

Morgan, born Cynthia Ann Cichorski in Chicago, Illinois in 1954, had a remarkable career in the entertainment industry. She started as a TV weather reporter in Rockford, Illinois, later taking on overnight radio shifts. She moved to Los Angeles to chase her acting dreams, adopting Cindy Morgan as her stage name.

Her career-defining role came in 1980 in the sports comedy “Caddyshack,” where she portrayed Lacey Underall, a country club owner’s attractive niece. With co-stars like Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield, this role marked a turning point in her career.

Morgan is also remembered for her dual roles as Lora and Yori in the 1982 science fiction film “Tron,” a film distinguished for its groundbreaking visuals in video games and computer graphics. Cindy Morgan had a notable career spanning film and TV.

Her film credits include “Up Yours,” “Silent Fury,” “American Gigolo,” “Amanda & The Alien,” and “Galaxis.”

In the realm of television, Morgan had numerous appearances on shows like “Mancuso, FBI,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Under Suspicion,” “The Love Boat,” “CHiPs,” “Bring ‘Em Back Alive,” “The Fall Guy,” “Falcon Crest,” “Matlock,” “Hunter,” and “The Highwayman.” Her television roles were as prominent as her film roles.

Morgan dedicated a significant amount of her time to supporting U.S. military personnel, striving to alleviate the financial stresses of families impacted by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Her father’s service in World War II greatly influenced her passion for this cause. Her charity work, especially in support of American veterans, remained a crucial aspect of her life.

In her later years, Morgan worked as a voiceover artist, including for the “Tron” franchise. She also was featured in several short films and video games. Her last known film credit was a 2022 movie where she lent her voice to a character’s mother.
