A pizza delivery man in West Palm Beach, Florida, was fatally shot while being robbed on his second day on the job at Domino’s Pizza.
33-year-old Tommie Charles Anderson II was killed on January 9, 2024, after completing a delivery. The resident who received the pizza reported hearing three gunshots immediately after the delivery and promptly dialed 911.
West Palm Beach, Florida, police officers responded to the call at approximately 12:50 p.m. and discovered Anderson on the ground, wounded from gunshots to his neck and arm. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries about an hour later.
Investigators identified a white Honda four-door car from the surveillance footage, which was seen approaching the delivery vehicle. The Florida Highway Patrol found the car in West Palm Beach four hours after the shooting, with three individuals inside: Elijsha Wingfield, 25, Avianna Kerr Williams, 25, and Marcus Williams, 29. Two rifles and a 9mm pistol were also recovered from the vehicle.
Wingfield, who confessed to the shooting, claimed financial desperation due to an unpaid paycheck as his motive. He insisted that he shot Anderson, who had surrendered by raising his hands, as he feared Anderson was attempting to reach for a weapon. Marcus Williams, also armed during the incident, stated that he did not shoot as he noticed Anderson was unarmed.
Anderson, a devoted father of two children, aged six and 13, held two jobs to support his family. His death has left his family, especially his father Tommie Anderson Jr., in profound grief.
The three suspects are currently facing charges of first-degree murder and are being held without the possibility of posting bond.
