On the morning of February 8, 2024, three men were discovered dead in the basement of a home on Putnam Avenue near Seneca Avenue in Queens, New York City.

The brother of one of the deceased dialed 911 shortly before 7 a.m., prompting the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to start an investigation into the fatalities.

The deceased group consisted of a 39-year-old man, a 38-year-old, and one other man whose age is unknown. Their identities are currently withheld pending notification of their families.

Upon arrival, the first responders found the trio unconscious and unresponsive in the basement of the building. The emergency medical services pronounced them dead at the scene.

Initial inquiries by the NYPD do not suggest that the deaths resulted from a criminal act.

An anonymous law enforcement source hinted at the possibility of drug overdoses as the cause of death. However, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still investigating the case, and definitive conclusions are yet to be made.

The incident has cast a shadow over the normally peaceful Ridgewood neighborhood, renowned for its tranquil residential environment and thriving small businesses.

Officers from the 104th Precinct of the NYPD are seeking information and encouraging anyone with knowledge about the incident to step forward.

As the probe continues, the local community remains hopeful for answers to shed light on the incident, offering solace to the grieving families.
