The global community, especially in New York City, is mourning the shocking death of 29-year-old TikTok celebrity, Eva Evans. The beloved digital content creator, known for her lively interpretation of city life, was found dead in her Manhattan, New York apartment.

Evans’ body was discovered on the evening of April 20, 2024, by a close acquaintance who had not seen her since the previous day. The friend, who had a key to Evans’ apartment, found her hanging, an apparent suicide. Law enforcement sources reported no signs of struggle or unusual injuries at the location.

Upon the grim discovery, the police and emergency medical services were called immediately. Evans was pronounced dead at the scene. The friend informed the police that there were no known indications of depression or emotional disorder in Evans, making the incident all the more shocking.

A note was found near the deceased, but the details of the note have not been revealed. The official cause of death is pending the results of a toxicology test.

Evans was a prolific content creator, famed for her web series ‘Club Rat’ on Amazon Prime Video. The series delves into the intricacies of modern dating in New York City. She also had an impressive following of over 300,000 on TikTok, where she shared glimpses of her daily life and personal thoughts.

Evans’ sister, Lila Joy Baumgardner, expressed her deep sorrow on social media, emphasizing the abrupt and profound personal loss the family is grappling with. “Even after 24 hours have passed, I’m still struggling with a constant cycle of disbelief and acknowledgment,” Baumgardner revealed, underscoring the ongoing challenge of coming to terms with her sister’s unexpected death.

Condolences have been pouring in from friends and celebrities. Julia Fox, actress in “Uncut Gems,” referred to Evans as a “New York icon” in a TikTok video. Fox described Evans as a younger sister figure and lamented her untimely death. Lo Bosworth, a former cast member of “The Hills,” also paid tribute to Evans’ kindness in a comment on Evans’ last social media post.

Although Evans did not publicly discuss her own mental health challenges, she was an advocate for mental health. She shared the traumatic experience of her father’s suicide in 2018 through the ‘Don’t Mind Me’ organization, emphasizing her personal commitment to mental health awareness.

A memorial gathering was held in lower Manhattan, New York, allowing family, friends, and fans the opportunity to honor Evans’ memory.

The death of Eva Evans comes less than a week after the passing of Kyle Marisa Roth, another TikTok influencer known for her Hollywood gossip videos.
