Ryan Hadley, who gained fame on “Ink Master” Season 6, died on June 20, 2024. He was 46 years old and had been bravely battling seminoma cancer. His passing was announced by his family on Instagram, stating that he died surrounded by his loved ones.

Hadley, a proficient tattoo artist from Indiana, left a lasting impression on the tattoo community with his unique realism tattoos. His family expressed their sorrow and emphasized his contribution to the art and tattoo industry. “Ryan passed away last night, surrounded by his loved ones,” read the Instagram post. “His short life left a significant legacy in the art and tattoo communities. He cherished his fans, friends, clients, and particularly his children. His absence will be profoundly felt, and he will always be remembered as a legend.”

In December 2023, Hadley revealed his diagnosis of seminoma, a malignant germ cell tumor associated with testicular cancer. Despite receiving intensive chemotherapy, the cancer spread to his liver and lungs, becoming untreatable.

Hadley shared his cancer journey with his Instagram followers, showcasing his resolve to battle the disease for as long as he could. He wrote, “I’m here, and I’m not giving up, not now, not ever. I’m determined to stay on this earth until I’ve ensured my loved ones have a good life before I leave this body.”

A GoFundMe campaign documented Hadley’s cancer struggle and his attempts to support his family during this difficult time. The campaign raised funds to cover his medical expenses and support his children. The campaign page highlighted his dedication to his family and his inability to work while undergoing treatment. “Ryan owns a tattoo & art gallery in Indiana and cares for his boys, all under 12. This GoFundMe is to help Ryan pay his bills and provide food for his family while he’s undergoing treatment,” the campaign stated. The campaign raised over $6,000.

The tattoo industry is mourning Hadley’s death, with many expressing condolences and remembering his contributions. Tattoo artist Durb Morrison stated, “We extend our condolences. Ryan was an incredible friend, artist, and father. He will be deeply missed.” 

Freddy Negrete, another respected tattoo artist, expressed, “This loss is immense for all of us. My sincere condolences.”

Beyond his skills as a tattoo artist, Hadley’s commitment to his work and resilience in facing challenges left a deep mark on those who knew him.

During his final months, he expressed immense gratitude to his supporters. “I want to express my gratitude to all my clients, sponsors, friends, and family for 25 amazing years in tattooing,” he posted on Instagram. Despite the grave prognosis, he remained positive and committed to his family’s future.
