The peaceful celebrations of July 4, 2024, were shattered when a fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Academy Sports + Outdoors Store at Festival Centre, Mobile, Alabama. The incident, which took place around 4:54 p.m., has left a deep impact on the local community.
Responding to the incident, officers discovered 22-year-old DeShaun Bonner suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Bonner succumbed to his injuries.
An anonymous witness described the harrowing scene: “I was sitting in my car, and all of a sudden, I heard gunshots. I saw a bunch of guys running around just shooting at a vehicle,” he said.
