In her first televised interview in two years, former First Lady Melania Trump spoke out against Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden administration, blaming them for ongoing issues affecting the country.

Trump, 54, appeared on “Fox & Friends” and pointed to several problems she believes are the result of failures under Biden and Harris. She claimed that American citizens are “suffering” due to the policies implemented during their time in office.

“The record speaks for itself,” she said, referring to the administration’s performance. Melania added that Harris and Biden had created an environment in which citizens could no longer afford basic necessities for their families.

The former First Lady further highlighted international conflicts and domestic security concerns, including the nation’s southern border. “We have wars going on around the world. Soldiers are dying. They were dying under this administration because of weak leadership. The border is open and dangerous. A lot of fentanyl is coming over, killing our youth. It’s very hard to see,” Trump added.

Trump did not directly mention either Biden or Harris by name, but her criticisms were clear. She emphasized that the upcoming election, set for November 5th, would allow Americans to make their voices heard. “The fate of the country is in the people’s hands,” she remarked, urging citizens to vote for change.

Melania’s rare public commentary came as her husband, former President Donald Trump, campaigns for another term in the White House. The 78-year-old former president has been traveling across the United States as he seeks re-election in 2024. According to Melania, he is the candidate who can bring prosperity and safety back to the nation. “All [Donald Trump] wants to [do], as he says, make America great again. He wants to make this country prosperous, safe for everybody. He wants to make [the] American dream possible again,” she said.

Throughout her time as First Lady, Melania Trump kept a relatively low profile, and in this interview, she shared insights into her personal experience. She mentioned that her former career as a fashion model prepared her for the pressures of public life. “Nothing prepared me more to be first lady in front of the world than the fashion industry,” she stated. “It’s glamorous, but it’s at the same time very tough. And, uh, as everybody judges you, look at you a certain way. It gives you a thick skin.”

The interview also coincided with the upcoming release of her memoir, “Melania,” which is scheduled to hit bookstores next month. The book, expected to give readers an intimate look into her life, covers her journey from Slovenia to the White House. In a promotional video for the memoir, she defended her decision to take nude photos earlier in her modeling career.

Trump has been using social media to preview the content of the book and to clarify certain aspects of her life, often misunderstood or misrepresented in the media.

During the “Fox & Friends” interview, she also discussed the two assassination attempts on her husband. The first took place on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, at a rally, and the second at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. In both cases, she expressed her disbelief and relief at her husband’s survival. “I ran to the TV and, I rewind it and I watched it,” she recalled of the July incident in Butler. “Nobody really knew yet because when you see him, on the floor and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”

Both incidents left her shaken, but Trump credited the Secret Service and her husband’s resilience for his safety. She referred to his survival as “miracles.”

The former First Lady also spoke about her family life, revealing that Donald Trump had encouraged her to have more children beyond their son, Barron. “I was always, perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging to have more,” she said. Trump added that their decision to have only one child was due to how busy her husband was and her desire to manage the household effectively.

As the 2024 election approaches, Melania Trump’s comments and the release of her memoir are expected to draw more attention to her husband’s campaign. Although she has maintained a low political profile in recent years, her remarks indicate that she remains firmly committed to supporting Donald Trump and his vision for America.
