Melania Trump is Breaking Protocol

Reports suggest that Melania Trump, the former First Lady, is making a break from tradition as she readies herself for a possible return to the White House. Instead of staying full-time at the official residence, she plans to divide her time among Washington D.C., New York City and Palm Beach, Florida.

Melania Trump has already started hiring staff for her potential return, with John Rogers, an executive vice president at Goldman Sachs, on board to assist with personnel and ceremonial matters. Rogers has previously worked as an adviser during her initial tenure as First Lady.

Melania Trump’s departure from tradition was first observed when she chose not to attend the customary White House tea meeting with First Lady Jill Biden, citing a clash with her memoir-related schedule. Despite pressure from some members of the incoming president’s team, she decided to uphold her autonomy.

According to sources, Melania Trump did not thoroughly enjoy her past White House experience. Throughout the presidency of Donald Trump from 2017 to 2021, the couple had separate bedrooms.

During her former stay in the White House, Melania Trump was known for her selective presence in the East Wing. She often chose to spend time in the family quarters, hosting guests and VIPs in the nearby “Map Room.” Her key initiatives included extensive renovations to ensure the White House’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and a controversial makeover of the White House Rose Garden.

The primary concern of the former First Lady appears to be her son Barron, who is currently a student at New York University. “As much as Melania loves Mar-a-Lago and her life in Palm Beach, she will spend more time in New York with her son, who is more important to her than anything else,” said insiders privy to her plans.

Despite keeping a low profile during the campaign, Melania Trump’s social media updates have consistently expressed optimism about America’s future. However, she was present at only a few pivotal campaign events throughout the year, while her husband held several rallies.

During her previous term as First Lady, Melania Trump initiated the “Be Best” campaign, targeting online bullying and advocating for children affected by the opioid crisis. She also started a foundation to raise educational funds for children in foster care.

Insiders suggest that Melania Trump will fulfill her obligations at White House events while balancing her time and personal preferences among the three locations. This strategy represents a novel approach to the role of First Lady, which has traditionally been based in Washington, D.C.
