A tragic incident unfolded during a honeymoon in Miami Beach, Florida, where a 26-year-old woman from Siedlce, Poland, lost her life due to exposure to psychoactive substances.

Aleksandra Leczycka and her husband Dawid Leczycki were discovered unconscious on a Miami street in August 2022, a mere 23 days after their wedding. Dawid survived the incident; unfortunately, Aleksandra did not.

After two years of thorough investigation, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce, Poland, released their conclusions on October 23, 2024. As stated by District Prosecutor Krystyna Golabek, “By a decision dated 23rd October 2024, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce discontinued the investigation into the case of Aleksandra L., whose death occurred on 29th August 2022, in Miami Beach, USA.”

Initially, it was believed that the couple fell victim to a robbery, as they were found deprived of cash and jewelry. However, an extensive investigation, which saw cooperation with American authorities and expert analysis in computer science and toxicology, painted a different picture.

The investigation revealed that the couple had willingly consumed psychoactive substances. Leczycka’s death was subsequently linked to a severe allergic reaction or an overdose from these substances. Although investigators didn’t completely discard the theory of involuntary drugging, no evidence was found to support this claim.

Prior to the unfortunate event, Leczycka had shared pictures of herself having a good time at a Miami beach. The couple got married on August 6, 2022, and had traveled to Miami to celebrate their honeymoon.

Prosecutor Golabek confirmed the investigation involved numerous measures, including legal assistance from American authorities and obtaining expert opinions from various fields. These findings contradicted the initial assumption of robbery playing a role in the incident.

Dawid Leczycki has remained silent about the event since it transpired.

The conclusion of the investigation comes after a detailed two-year examination of evidence collected both in Poland and Miami Beach. This included materials provided by American investigators and expert analysis of digital and toxicological evidence.
