JFK’s Grandson Accused of Ruining Family Reputation

Jack Schlossberg, the only grandson of the late John F. Kennedy and son of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, has removed his social media profiles following a series of contentious posts and public feuds. This action has sparked worries about its repercussions on the reputation of the Kennedy family.

The 32-year-old Schlossberg had previously garnered attention for his bold political commentary, satirical videos, and confrontations with figures like his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr., lawyer Alan Dershowitz, and various conservative media personalities. His recent behavior, however, has drawn criticism from members of his own family, including Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, who told The Post, “I hope he gets the help he needs.” Kathleen is the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has often been the subject of Schlossberg’s attacks.

Schlossberg’s controversial behavior escalated in the wake of President Donald Trump’s election and the subsequent nomination of RFK Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Disappointed by his family’s lack of resistance, Schlossberg urged them to voice their opposition, questioning in a now-deleted video, “How come I’m the only one who’s talking out?” He also delivered a profanity-filled warning about the gravity of the situation.

His mother, Caroline Kennedy, also penned a stern letter urging senators to reject RFK Jr.’s confirmation, labeling him as a “predator” and asserting that her father and uncles “would be disgusted.”

In recent weeks, Schlossberg’s social media conduct became increasingly erratic. He recorded himself ridiculing Dershowitz, imitating the 86-year-old lawyer in a sarcastic manner while alluding to Epstein-related allegations. Dershowitz, a former employee of Schlossberg’s great-uncle Sen. Ted Kennedy and Harvard professor to Joseph Kennedy III, retorted: “He’s done more harm for the Kennedy name than all the rest of the Kennedys combined.”

Dershowitz also alleged that Schlossberg falsely claimed that he had murdered his wife—who is still alive—and is considering legal action for potential defamation. Schlossberg did not comment on these allegations.

Schlossberg’s posts also turned offensive, as he made fun of RFK Jr.’s spasmodic dysphonia, a speech-impairing condition.

The Kennedy descendant also targeted conservative figures such as Megyn Kelly and Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan. He sarcastically questioned Kelly’s gender and stated that she could “no longer play in female sports.” When Callahan penned an article on his behavior, Schlossberg responded with derogatory slurs on Instagram, which were later deleted.

The escalating controversy culminated in Schlossberg’s sudden exit from social media. “I’m sorry to everyone I hurt. I was wrong. I’m deleting all my social media. Forever,” he posted as a final message before deactivating his accounts on Thursday, February 6.

Schlossberg’s actions have been criticized as damaging to the once-revered Kennedy legacy. Biographer Laurence Leamer found it “peculiar” that Schlossberg didn’t possess his grandfather JFK’s restraint, underscoring the necessity for rational opposition. Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, however, dismissed the significance of the Kennedy dynasty, implying that most Americans “just ignore the rest of them.”

Despite being a Harvard graduate with a law degree and MBA, Schlossberg is yet to carve out a clear career path. He has served as an EMT and a State Department assistant in the past, but currently appears to reside at his family’s Upper East Side home. Known to share videos of himself skateboarding and practicing ballet, he told Vogue last year that making serious issues entertaining or fun is key to engaging people.

With Schlossberg’s withdrawal from social media, it is unclear whether he will return to the public sphere or if this marks the end of his conspicuous presence.

The Kennedy family, once known for political elegance, faces renewed examination as controversy overshadows diplomacy in one of its youngest members.
