Starting February 22, 2025, Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump and daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, is set to host a new primetime weekend program on Fox News Channel. Titled “My View with Lara Trump,” the show is scheduled to air every Saturday from 9 PM to 10 PM ET.
Upon announcing her return to the network, Lara Trump expressed her excitement about engaging with the American public again on Fox News and emphasized her aim to highlight the nation’s greatness.
Lauding Trump’s communication skills, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott highlighted her success as a businesswoman and working mother and her deep understanding of the current political landscape and public sentiment. Scott believes that Trump’s unique viewpoint will be a compelling addition to their weekend programming.
“My View with Lara Trump” aims to spotlight the return of practicality to all aspects of American life. The show will provide comprehensive analysis and feature interviews with influential figures on national headline issues, focusing on topics affecting families across America.
Trump’s previous media stints include serving as a Fox News contributor between 2021 and 2022 and hosting an online series called “The Right View” since 2020. She has also worked as a producer for the television show “Inside Edition.”
Trump’s appointment is a first in the media industry. It marks the first instance of a sitting president’s immediate family member hosting their own show on a major television news network while the president is in office. Jenna Bush Hager and Chelsea Clinton, daughters of former presidents, had television roles at NBC, but only after their respective fathers’ terms ended.
In addition to her media experience, Trump has had a significant political career. She was a senior advisor to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign, where she headed the “Women for Trump” initiative. In December 2024, she stepped down as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. Earlier in 2024, she was rumored to be a potential Senate replacement for current Secretary of State Marco Rubio, but she withdrew her name from consideration.
Beyond her political and media career, Trump made a successful foray into the music industry. In September 2023, she covered Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” a top 10 hit on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart. She followed this with an original song, “Hero,” in 2024.
The introduction of “My View with Lara Trump” entails rescheduling “One Nation with Brian Kilmeade” to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET. Fox News, which recently had its highest-rated January since its launch in 1996, continues to lead in cable news ratings. The network has maintained a close relationship with the Trump administration and was the preferred outlet for the president’s mainstream media interviews during his 2024 campaign.
