Trump Mocks Himself, Biden in Wacky Beach Body Rant

President Donald Trump made unusual, bizarre remarks comparing his body to that of former President Joe Biden during a White House meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025.

When an Argentine reporter asked if he planned to visit the South American nation, Trump, 79, brought up Biden’s beach trips to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Trump said he would love to go to Argentina and, like Biden, go to the beach. He then compared their physiques, noting that his legs are not quite as thin as Biden’s, and that he is slightly heavier, with slightly larger arms and a slightly larger body. “I’m not sure it would be appreciated on the beach, but I’m not going to take a chance. You won’t see me in a bathing suit,” Trump said.

The president continued criticizing Biden’s beach habits. Trump claimed people won’t see him in a bathing suit, sitting on a beach in Argentina, falling down, and not being able to lift a three-ounce chair meant for old people to lift. He said Biden couldn’t lift it and spent too much time on the beach. Trump referenced a New York Post report from July that claimed Biden struggled with a beach chair in Malibu, California, during Fourth of July weekend. However, the viral video shows no evidence that he had trouble with the chair.

Biden is currently dealing with serious health issues. The former president, 82, is undergoing radiation treatment for prostate cancer, which was diagnosed in May. His spokesperson confirmed on Oct. 11 that Biden is receiving radiation therapy and hormone treatment as part of his treatment plan. The radiation treatment has a duration of five weeks. Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that spread to his bones, with a Gleason score of 9, placing it in the most aggressive risk category. He had already been taking hormone medication since his diagnosis.

This isn’t the first time Trump has made remarks about Biden’s physique. At a 2023 rally in Waterloo, Iowa, Trump boasted about having a superior body compared to Biden. However, Trump explained he prefers not to display his body at the beach due to the harsh conditions of sun, sand, surf, and wind. He acknowledged his appearance wouldn’t be appealing to beachgoers.

Trump was diagnosed in July with a condition that causes leg swelling. He was filmed playing beach volleyball in 1996 and photographed on his yacht in 1988, both times wearing pants rather than swimwear.

The beach body comments came during an important diplomatic meeting. Trump hosted Milei just days after finalizing a $20 billion bailout for Argentina while laying off federal employees.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the financial package, which includes a currency swap with Argentina’s central bank to support the struggling Argentine peso. The timing raised eyebrows because thousands of U.S. federal workers face layoffs during a government shutdown that has stretched past two weeks. American farmers are also frustrated, dealing with falling soybean prices caused by Trump’s trade war with China, while watching the government send billions to Argentina.

Trump tied the financial assistance directly to Argentina’s upcoming election results. He expressed confidence in Milei’s electoral prospects and promised robust U.S. support if his party prevails. However, Trump warned that defeat would end American cooperation because the alternative leadership lacks a viable philosophy for Argentina’s success.

Bessent has denied that the deal is a bailout, saying the U.S. is supporting economic reforms of a key ally and advancing American strategic interests in South America. Bessent announced on Wednesday that the administration is pursuing another $20 billion for Argentina from private banks and sovereign wealth funds. He described it as a private sector solution to Argentina’s upcoming debt payments, noting many banks and sovereign funds have expressed interest.

Critics note that major hedge funds led by friends of Bessent are heavily invested in Argentina. Investment firms, including BlackRock, Fidelity, and Pimco, could benefit financially. Rohit Chopra, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, said that while the government is shut down, the Treasury Department has officially started its bailout of Argentina, pumping dollars into the country in exchange for its plummeting peso rather than helping people at home.

Trump called Milei, a far-right libertarian, his “favorite president.” Milei was one of only two world leaders on stage at Trump’s inauguration. Trump said the bailout was just helping a great philosophy take over a great country.

The Argentine peso dropped 0.7 percent the day after Trump’s comments, trading at 1,395 pesos per dollar compared to 1,385 the previous day. Argentine opposition leaders criticized Trump’s conditions. Former President Cristina Fernández, under house arrest for corruption, wrote on social media that Trump told Milei in the United States that their agreements depend on who wins the election, and that Argentines already know what to do.
