Four individuals were discovered deceased inside a fifth-floor apartment at the Castle Hill Houses in the Bronx, New York City, on November 5, 2025. Authorities are investigating the case as a murder-suicide. The deceased have been identified as Kaseem Stukes, 44; his mother, Theresa Stukes, 75; his daughter, Kianna Stukes, 26; and Andrew Reynoso, 33, who was related to the family.
Police responded to a wellness check request at the New York City Housing Authority building on Lacombe Avenue in the Castle Hill neighborhood around 9:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found all four victims with gunshot wounds, and they were declared dead at the location. A firearm was recovered from the scene.
Kaseem Stukes was found on a couch with a firearm nearby, while Theresa, Kianna, and Reynoso were located in different parts of the apartment. Sources indicated that the alleged gunman contacted an out-of-state relative before the incident, stating, “Check on your family.” A local acquaintance later discovered the bodies and notified the police.
One victim reportedly mentioned to someone earlier in the day that he would “see them in the next life,” suggesting he was aware of impending events. Investigators are reviewing area video footage related to the case.
The medical examiner’s office is working to confirm the exact causes of death, though police sources suggest the victims succumbed to gunshot wounds. Authorities have clearly classified the deaths as homicides, yet no arrests have been made.
Theresa Stukes, the 75-year-old victim, was a longtime resident of Castle Hill Houses and was well regarded in the community. She was described by neighbors as a “wonderful, wonderful person” who was helpful in the building. She was known to family members as the golden girl and was described as very loving. Neighbors reported no prior history of violence in the home.
Kaseem Stukes grew up in Castle Hill and was remembered as a fun-loving child who played sports. Friends and neighbors expressed shock at his involvement in such violence. He worked in construction and was reportedly trying to improve his circumstances. Despite a charge of reckless endangerment and illegal gun possession in September 2024, acquaintances believed he was reforming.
He had a record of legal issues, but his mother, Theresa, had supported him throughout. Neighbors and friends described the Stukes family as close-knit and expressed sorrow over the sudden violence.
The familial connections indicated that Kianna Stukes, 26, was Kaseem’s daughter and Theresa’s granddaughter. Andrew Reynoso was connected to the family, with some sources identifying him as Kianna’s boyfriend.
The Castle Hill Houses, where the incident occurred, is a public housing complex managed by the New York City Housing Authority. Residents of the building expressed their condolences for the family following the incident. Community members expressed shock over the violence, given the family’s reputation in the neighborhood.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the violence and the motive behind the shooting. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events inside the fifth-floor apartment.
