Brazilian social media influencer Bárbara Jankavski, known online as “Boneca Desumana,” passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil, at the age of 31. Jankavski, who also went by the name “Human Barbie,” gained a significant following by chronicling her cosmetic transformation journey on various social media platforms.
Jankavski accumulated 55,000 followers on Instagram and 344,000 followers on TikTok, where she openly discussed her experience with at least 27 cosmetic procedures. Her final social media post, featuring influencer Avós Da Razão, was shared on October 1. At the time of her passing, she had not updated her accounts for over a month.
A police report obtained by CNN Brasil indicated that 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto informed authorities he had hired Jankavski for sexual services on the night of her death. De Vitto’s testimony revealed that both he and Jankavski allegedly used illicit substances during their meeting at a São Paulo residence.
De Vitto noticed that Jankavski had stopped moving while sleeping and immediately contacted São Paulo’s Mobile Emergency Care Service. He followed resuscitation instructions for about nine minutes until medical personnel arrived. Despite these efforts, paramedics declared her dead upon arrival.
The São Paulo State Military Police found Jankavski’s body in underwear, noting an injury to her left eye and marks on her back. A friend of de Vitto present that day explained to the police that the facial injury resulted from a fall earlier.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has ordered autopsy and toxicology tests to determine the cause of death. The case is registered as suspicious, and investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding her death.
Jankavski’s death prompted numerous tributes from fans and fellow influencers in the comments on her last Instagram post. Avós Da Razão, who appeared in her final video, commented: “How sad. Rest in peace, flower.”
