Beloved Actor Dies at 55 After Rooftop Fall

Brazilian actor and voice artist Tony Germano died at age 55 after falling from the roof of his home in São Paulo, Brazil, on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025. The performer, known for lending his voice to popular children’s shows on Netflix, Disney, and Nickelodeon, was checking on renovation work when he lost his balance and fell.

His death was confirmed shortly after the accident. A representative for Germano released an official statement.

The actor had moved into his parents’ home less than a month before the accident occurred. He lived alone and had no children. According to reports, Germano had spent the evening before his death with his sister and appeared to be in good spirits, expressing excitement about beginning a new chapter in his life.

Germano’s artistic career spanned three decades, during which he established himself as a versatile performer across multiple entertainment mediums. He became particularly well-known in Brazil for his voice acting work, specializing in Portuguese dubbing for major American entertainment companies. His vocal talents brought numerous animated and live-action characters to life for Brazilian audiences.

Among his notable voice acting credits, Germano worked on Nickelodeon’s “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn,” Netflix’s “Go, Dog, Go!” and Disney’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast” film. He also contributed his voice to popular animated series, including “Elena of Avalor,” “The Muppets,” and “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West.” These roles made his voice familiar to a generation of young Brazilian viewers who grew up watching dubbed versions of American children’s programming.

Beyond voice acting, Germano built an impressive theatrical resume performing in some of musical theater’s most celebrated productions. His stage credits included roles in “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Miss Saigon,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” These performances showcased his ability to captivate live audiences with both his vocal abilities and stage presence.

In film, Germano appeared in movies such as “Phantom Summer” and “Necropolis Symphony.” Most recently, he had worked on “Labyrinth of Lost Boys,” which screened at the 49th São Paulo International Film Festival in October 2025. The role demonstrated his continued relevance in the Brazilian film industry even after 30 years in the entertainment business.

Germano was laid to rest at a cemetery in Vargem Grande Paulista on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to pay their final respects to the performer who had touched so many lives throughout his career.

Tributes poured in from colleagues and fans on social media following news of his death. Fellow voice actress Maria Lopes described him as one of the kindest souls she had ever worked with.

Brazilian actor Miguel Falabella also paid tribute to his colleague, calling him an impeccable professional, a dear friend, and a talented actor. Falabella noted that he had the privilege of working alongside Germano in several productions, including “Annie” and “Man of La Mancha.” Actress Claudia Raia’s husband, Jarbas Homem de Mello, commented on the tribute post, offering his condolences.

Fans also expressed their grief on Germano’s social media accounts. One follower wrote, wishing him light and noting his kindness. Another mentioned watching him perform live before becoming his friend, expressing disbelief at his passing, and stating that his talent and kindness would be greatly missed. A third thanked him for his art over many years of friendship.

The representative’s statement requested respect and understanding during this painful time for Germano’s family, friends, and colleagues. It emphasized the legacy he left behind, noting his dedication, generosity, and immense talent that touched everyone who had the privilege of working with him. The statement concluded by acknowledging that his absence would be deeply felt throughout the entertainment community.

For many Brazilian children and families, Germano’s voice became synonymous with beloved characters from international entertainment franchises. His work in dubbing helped make English-language content accessible and enjoyable for Portuguese-speaking audiences, contributing to the cultural exchange between American and Brazilian entertainment markets. His contributions to making these stories available in Portuguese allowed generations of Brazilian children to enjoy popular shows and films in their native language.
