Beloved Singer Dead at 27

Mo Su-jin, the vocalist of South Korean band Acoustic Collabo, died on January 25, 2026, at the age of 27, her agency Panic Button announced on January 28, 2026.

The cause of death was not disclosed. “Mo Su-jin, the vocalist of Acoustic Collabo, passed away on the 25th,” the agency stated. “Her bereaved family is in deep sorrow over this sudden and heartbreaking news.”

The family requested privacy regarding the death details and asked the public to avoid speculation and rumors. The funeral was held privately, attended by family, relatives, and close friends only. The burial service took place at Eden Memorial Park in Namyangju at 10:30 a.m. on January 28, 2026.

Born in 1999, Mo Su-jin was a former idol trainee before joining Acoustic Collabo as the third vocalist. She became the lead vocalist of the band alongside Kim Seung-jae.

Acoustic Collabo includes vocalists Ahn Da Eun, Kim Kyu Nyeon, and Mo Su-jin in the lineup. The group showcased Mo’s talent through the third full-length album “Good to Be with You.”

In 2022, the group became involved in a legal dispute with its former management company. After the dispute was partially resolved in 2024, the group achieved a complete victory in the second trial on November 27, 2025.

Following the resolution, the group returned in 2025 and signed an exclusive contract with the agency Panic Button. Mo Su-jin also pursued a solo career alongside her work with Acoustic Collabo. In June 2025, she released the single “Your Universe.”

The agency’s statement following Mo’s death emphasized the family’s wishes for privacy, requesting that specific details, including the cause of death, remain undisclosed.

Local newspaper ONSEN and Korea JoongAng Daily both reported on the announcement. The news spread quickly through social media and entertainment industry channels following the official statement from Panic Button.

The group’s third full-length album, “Good to Be with You,” showcased the vocal abilities that Mo developed throughout her training and early career.

The partnership between Mo Su-jin and Kim Seung-jae as lead vocalists formed the core of Acoustic Collabo’s sound.

Mo Su-jin’s path to Acoustic Collabo was unconventional. While training as an idol, she struggled with dance but excelled vocally. On the advice of her vocal teacher, she shifted her focus to singing and discovered Acoustic Collabo’s music.

Her journey to joining the group began when she posted a cover of “It’s Strange, With You” (묘해, 너와), a song by The Ade that served as an original soundtrack for the drama “Discovery of Love,” on social media with a hashtag—unaware that the group was holding auditions. Company officials noticed her video, and after auditioning, she beat out nearly 1,600 other applicants to become Acoustic Collabo’s third-generation vocalist.

Beyond her work with the group, Mo pursued a solo career under the stage name “Cloudy,” releasing tracks including “Flight,” “Fade Away,” “Be My Love,” and “Your Universe.”

Following her death, her Instagram account and YouTube videos were temporarily set to private before being restored on January 29. A cat believed to have been her pet also had its social media account converted to private.
