Trump’s NEW Hair Style Stuns Everyone

Friday, September 4, 2026 brought President Donald Trump down the steps of Air Force One at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey, and the hair did not match the one the country knows: several shades darker, loose rather than lacquered, and flipped to the side opposite his longtime part. The internet handled the rest.

Trump, 80, was arriving for a weekend at his Bedminster golf club. The change looked dramatic enough that some onlookers figured a fresh hairpiece was doing the work up top, filling out the sweep across his thinning crown. Nothing has been confirmed, though — not a wig, not a dye job, not a hairpiece. Every claim of one is speculation from people with a zoom lens and a keyboard.

Nobody Had This on the 2026 Bingo Card

X moved at roughly the speed of a jet engine. “Trump becoming a brunette was definitely not on my 2026 bingo card,” read the post from one user. Other posters skipped the hedging and called the president a brunette, suggested brown had taken over from his usual shade, and wondered aloud whether a color change was in progress. Journalist Aaron Rupar joined the pile-on with a post of his own on X, asking what in the world was going on up there.

A Red Hat Joins the Story

The next day offered no clean second look. Instagram photos from internet personality Michael Solakiewicz showed Trump golfing on Saturday, September 5, in a red hat that covered most of his hair. Whatever the tarmac cameras caught, the golf course cameras were not going to settle it.

The president’s hair has been a long-running national conversation, and this is a familiar pattern within it. Cameras have caught a bald patch beneath the comb-over, and in a stiff breeze the sweep above it has drawn comparisons to cotton candy. He has heard all of it, and he has answered.

Two Denials, Years Apart

Denial one is the classic. Artificial is the one thing Trump has spent years swearing his head is not — no toupee involved, he insists, and the hair is entirely his own.

Denial two arrived Wednesday, September 2, during remarks in the Rose Garden. “I don’t wear a wig,” he insisted, then offered what he considers proof. A windy 2024 campaign rally in Ohio was the exhibit, and no wig, he argued, would have survived those conditions. People had spent years telling him he wore one, he said, and the weather that night settled the matter, because anything artificial would not have stayed on his head for long.

Sen. Bernie Moreno appeared with him at the rally in question, held near Dayton International Airport on March 16, 2024. Short of a Florida hurricane, Trump said, the conditions there were about the worst he had ever experienced, and the wind was blowing hard as he approached the speaker. One wrinkle: press photographs from that day show him in a red MAGA cap.

Trump biographer Michael Wolff has a claim of his own. Speaking on the Daily Beast podcast “Inside Trump’s Head,” Wolff described a small kit of hair tufts that travels with the president, dyed to match his shade of the moment and stuck on with paste by a person Wolff did not identify. The kit dates to Trump’s first term, he said, calling the upkeep a major, long-running operation.

All of it runs up against one report from earlier this year. A senior staffer told New York Magazine in January that dye was out and white was in — the president had stopped dyeing his hair and was letting it go white, a choice the staffer described as his “only concession to age.” The darker shade photographed in Morristown points the opposite way from that account, and two possibilities remain with no way to pick between them: he reversed course, or the lighting and the camera are doing more work than the speculation allows.

The Look Has Come and Gone Before

A surprise hairstyle has disappeared as fast as it showed up before. Trump turned up at a Virginia church for a surprise visit in 2019 wearing a similarly slicked-back look, which set off the same kind of chatter. By later that day, it was gone.

A Las Vegas speech weeks before the Morristown arrival showed his hair looking noticeably fuller and touched off another round of wig talk; a strong wind had already laid bare more of his scalp as he boarded Air Force One in New Jersey. Morristown goes in the same file.

Here is the scoreboard: one darker, tousled arrival in New Jersey, one flipped part, one red golf hat and no confirmations. The next batch of photographs will have to answer whether the new shade sticks around or follows the 2019 look and vanishes before the news cycle finishes typing.
