Disney is no longer using the phrase “fairy godmothers in training” at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques at its US Disney theme parks, where Disney characters dress-up children 3-12 and make them princesses or knights.
The cast members used to be called “Fairy Godmothers in Training.” Now they are called “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices.”
Disney says it chose the gender-neutral title “apprentice” so that cast members would have the freedom to identify with whatever gender they felt comfortable with.
