On February 11, a 16-year-old transgender girl from Britain was discovered dead in a park, prompting authorities to detain two other adolescents in relation to the stabbing that occurred in broad daylight.
At 3:00 pm on Saturday, witnesses discovered popular TikToker Brianna Ghey, 16, who has thousands of followers on the app, with several stab wounds at Village Park in Warrington, Cheshire.
Despite the fact that Ghey was a transgender girl, investigators declared that there was no proof connecting her killing to a hate crime motivated by her sexual identity. Detectives arrested two teens, a boy and a girl, whom they suspected were responsible for her death after conducting additional inquiries into the stabbing event.
The suspects, whose identities were withheld due to them being minors, were from Warrington and in custody, according to the authorities.
According to Chief Superintendent Detective Michael Evans, the horrifying death was likely the result of a deliberate attack. Nonetheless, they were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack and the reason behind the murder.
Nothing seemed to indicate that Ghey’s death was caused by hatred, he claimed, during the period they spent looking into the incident.
On TikTok, Ghey frequently uploaded videos of herself dancing and lip-syncing. A few hours before her horrifying death, she posted her last message.
In a statement, the Ghey family praised her as a stunning, amusing, and clever young woman with a larger-than-life persona. Her family predicted that she would have a profound impact on everyone.
Transgender rights activists pointed out that Ghey’s death certificate will state that she was a man because the British government forbids transgender persons from changing their gender on official documents.
