On Monday, July 10, three people died by suicide in NYC, each being hit by a subway train, at different locations in Manhattan, as confirmed by the police.
The first incident occurred around 8 am at the East 86th Street station on the Upper East Side. A 47-year-old man leaped in front of a downtown 6 train and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Approximately two hours later, around 10 am, a 22-year-old man was struck on the Upper West Side by a downtown 2 train at the West 72nd Street station. Despite the quick response from emergency medical personnel, who transported him to Mount Sinai West, his life could not be saved. However, the incident has been classified as a suicide.
Later in the day, at approximately 6:39 pm, another individual jumped in front of an uptown Q train at the Lexington Avenue/63rd Street station, according to law enforcement sources. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene by the police.
