On August 17, a Beechcraft Model 390 private jet crashed, causing the death of 10 individuals, including eight from the plane and two motorists.
The aircraft had left Langkawi International Airport and was headed for Subang Airport, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, contact was made with the Subang Air Traffic Control Tower at 2:47 p.m., with landing clearance provided soon after. Yet, a mere three minutes later, signs of the crash on the highway emerged via smoke detected by the tower.
Selangor Police Chief, Hussein Omar Khan, mentioned the jet’s collision with both a car and motorcycle on the ground. “There were no survivors,” noted Transport Minister Anthony Loke in a news update. Social media offered visual documentation of the incident.
Local authorities listed the deceased as consisting of six passengers, two crew members, and two motorists. Reports by the BBC named the pilot, Shahrul Kamal Roslan, and a local politician among the casualties.
Transport Minister Loke confirmed that the investigation concerning the incident’s details is ongoing.
