O’Connor recalled post-season conversations with Simon as he prepared for the NFL Draft, saying, “He was always so kind & appreciative of everything I sent him. I joked with him ‘Don’t forget about me when you make it to the NFL!’ He laughed and said ‘Never!'”
In his final season at UAlbany, Simon delivered a remarkable performance, recording 55 tackles and 12.5 sacks. This performance contributed to his standing as the 448th prospect in the forthcoming NFL draft, according to ESPN rankings.
