President Donald Trump’s 35-year-old executive assistant, Natalie Harp, has once again become the subject of widespread online discussion following her appearance at his New Jersey golf club on Aug. 16, 2026. Dressed in vivid blue golf clothes and clutching her signature oversized red bag, Harp walked closely behind the 80-year-old commander-in-chief as he interacted with young golfers at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.
Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia, 39, made Harp a focal point of his Sunday speech at an Atlanta rally, where he lambasted what he described as a president who cares more about personal pleasures than the duties of office. The senator’s criticism centered on Trump’s priorities, alleging the president wants to build his ballroom and fly with Natalie on what Ossoff called an unsafe plane given by Qatar’s leader, all while sailors face combat and national resources run dry.
Footage of the Georgia senator’s remarks spread rapidly across social media platforms, shared by Mehdi Hasan, Ron Filipkowski and Adam Carlson. Michigan State Senate Majority Whip Mallory McMorrow responded, “Ok I’ll bite. Who’s Natalie.” Podcast host Jeff Storobinsky raised questions about why First Lady Melania Trump would stay in her marriage.
An Unusual Breadth of Responsibilities
A former anchor for One America News, Harp now holds the title of executive assistant to the president, though her actual functions stretch far beyond conventional administrative work. She carries a mobile printing device to deliver hard copies of articles to Trump, publishes content on his social media channels well past normal business hours, and frequently attends sessions in the Oval Office. These habits have generated two monikers for her: the “human printer” and the “human binkie.”
MAGA influencer Michael Solakiewicz posted video on social media showing Harp mere paces from Trump as he spoke with youth golfers at the Bedminster facility, sparking renewed conversation about the dynamic between the president and his younger aide. This marked her second straight weekend at the property; the previous weekend, she had celebrated her 35th birthday there while Trump watched the final round of the LIV Golf tournament. She flew back to Washington on Sunday alongside acting intelligence chief Bill Pulte, carrying her distinctive red bag.
Cameras also documented Harp climbing aboard Marine One near the White House earlier in August with a red backpack as Trump set out for California and Nevada. During the West Coast swing, he held a Republican National Committee fundraising event at his golf facility in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Handwritten Notes and a Clandestine Departure
A significant portion of public curiosity surrounding Harp originates from “Regime Change,” authored by New York Times correspondents Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. The volume disclosed that Trump informed his staff Harp was the sole individual who loved him to the same degree as his spouse and children, adding he believed she would never abandon him. According to the book, Harp left handwritten notes for the president in his private quarters; one read, “You are all that matters to me.”
Following a credible Iranian threat against Air Force One, the Secret Service determined, Harp joined Trump on a secret flight from Turkey. The president traveled on a C-32A accompanied only by Harp, Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, and former valet Walt Nauta. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senior adviser Stephen Miller, additional high-ranking officials and the press pool stayed on the decoy plane.
Appearing on MS NOW Sunday, Haberman described Harp as Trump’s source of emotional reassurance during tense moments — “his comfort blanket.”
A Brother’s Perspective and Security Worries
Preston Harp, Natalie’s estranged brother, has described the connection between his sister and the president as problematic, likening her to a fan club. He attributed her intense devotion to the siblings’ background, explaining in interviews they were homeschooled and taught to revere American exceptionalism. Preston said Natalie interprets what detractors term historical whitewashing as proper correction, mirroring Trump’s own outlook.
Biographer Michael Wolff revealed that even those in Trump’s closest orbit have voiced unease about Harp’s proximity. Speaking on “Inside Trump’s Head,” Wolff stated the Secret Service cautioned that officials considered Harp’s bond a possible threat to both herself and the president. The White House has issued no reply to comment requests.
Harp also appeared in the background of a social media image shared by Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump, where she was visible holding two cellphones and documents.
