Barron Trump has swapped the tailored look for something much closer to standard campus uniform. New photos of the 20-year-old leaving New York University, described in reporting published Sept. 29, 2026, show President Donald Trump’s youngest son in a white Ralph Lauren polo shirt with beige chinos, a brown leather belt and a black backpack.
The hair drew the most attention. Rather than the slicked-back style long associated with him, Barron wore it longer and tousled, with strands falling naturally across his forehead and seemingly without any styling product. Secret Service personnel accompanied him during the outing.
The outfit marked a clear shift from the sharp suits and longline wool coats he has often worn for high-profile family appearances, and there is no indication that he has publicly described the change as a deliberate reinvention. The images follow another noticeable hairstyle change at the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House in June.
A New Campus and a New Uniform
Barron is studying finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business and now lives in Washington, D.C., after moving to the university’s campus in the city. He first enrolled at NYU’s Greenwich Village campus in Manhattan in fall 2024 and reportedly commuted to classes from Trump Tower, then transferred to the Washington campus for the fall 2025 semester.
Building a Brand Away From the Spotlight
College is only part of the schedule. In June 2026, Barron launched SOLLOS, a drinks brand he started with friends from Florida and modeled on the inspiration of the Sunshine State. The company rolled out its first product in 2026, and he is listed as a founding partner and director, though he has stayed behind the scenes rather than serving as its public face.
Published estimates have put his personal fortune at around $150 million, with his involvement in the family’s crypto ventures cited as a factor. Locked cryptocurrency tokens tied to him could be worth as much as $525 million once they become tradeable.
In an interview with Laura Ingraham, the president offered his own assessment of his son’s skills. “He has an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” Trump said. First Lady Melania Trump has also credited Barron with advising his father on which young voters to reach during the 2024 campaign.
A Quiet Romance and a Low Profile
His personal life has drawn its own share of attention. Reports have said that Barron has been dating a woman he met on the NYU campus for more than a year, and reporting on Sept. 27 said he is keeping the relationship largely private. The current state of the romance is unclear, particularly after his campus switch. On the PBD Podcast in 2024, Donald Trump said he was not sure his son was at the dating stage yet.
Melania Trump, 56, has written warmly about her youngest child. “Barron possesses a rare combination of intelligence, charm, and diligence,” Melania Trump wrote in her 2024 memoir, “Melania,” adding that he had held firm to his character and values through the upheaval of his father’s election and presidency.
Speaking on Fox News’ “The Big Money Show,” the first lady said the family sees less of one another than it used to because of their schedules, and that Barron, now a young man, has plenty of his own to get on with. She noted that her husband’s work can keep him in the Oval Office late into the evening while she keeps her own calendar full.
Public sightings of the 6-foot-9 student remain rare. His last public appearance was at the FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19, where he joined Donald and Melania Trump at MetLife Stadium. These days the finance major is splitting his time between classes in Washington and a drinks company he runs largely out of view — and, judging by the latest photos, doing it in a polo shirt.
