The investigation into the disappearance of Lisa Culp, aged 53, ended in tragedy on October 5, 2024, when her body was discovered on a freeway. Her husband reported her missing the day before, and authorities are treating her death as a suspected hit-and-run case.
Culp left her residence in Chino, California early on October 4. She was reported missing by her husband at 9:13 a.m. In response, local law enforcement embarked on an extensive search involving hospitals, parks, and other potential areas of interest. According to the Chino Police Department, surveillance footage showed Culp departing a gas station on foot in the early morning hours, heading north on Central Avenue. Her silver 2010 Mercedes sedan was deserted at the gas station near the 60 Freeway.
Additional video footage found the next day prompted a broader search, which included the use of drones, off-highway vehicles and police officers on foot.
Authorities found Culp’s body on the 60 Freeway on October 5. “During the search, officers discovered the body of a deceased female on the freeway, which appeared to have been involved in a traffic collision,” confirmed law enforcement officials.
The Chino Police Department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of Culp’s death. While they are still examining the details of her disappearance, they currently do not suspect foul play. Authorities are urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward.
Culp’s family, still dealing with the unexpected loss, expressed their appreciation for the support they received during the search. Lana Culp, her niece, shared a touching tribute on social media, posting a photo of her aunt with the message: “We love you, Aunt Lisa.”
