Jennifer Lopez’s post-divorce stretch has produced a Las Vegas residency, a run of unusually frank interviews and, lately, one very closely watched car ride.
Lopez, the singer and actress, and Brett Goldstein, her co-star in the Netflix film “Office Romance,” reportedly arrived at and departed a Los Angeles party hosted by Cade Hudson together on Oct. 16, 2026, reviving speculation about the pair.
The two traveled to the party in the same car, though an eyewitness said they appeared to go in separately, with Goldstein stepping out first and Lopez following moments later. They repeated the pattern on the way out. Goldstein left ahead of her and got into the waiting car, Lopez joined him, and they drove off together.
Both Brushed It Off in June
The sighting landed despite the pair’s earlier denials. In June, while promoting “Office Romance,” the two waved off the romance talk, and during a June 2 appearance on NBC’s “Today,” Lopez said people routinely pair her off with her male co-stars.
Earlier gossip reports have cited sources claiming the two were hooking up, though those claims say nothing about where things stand now. An eyewitness also reportedly spotted them at the private Cayo Levantado resort in the Dominican Republic, where the source said they dined together, spent time on the beach and left a wrap party to be alone in a cabana. That account drew pushback after a commenter said the pair had filmed a scene at the resort. Reaction to the sighting otherwise ran warm.
The Split She Calls the Best Thing
Lopez met her ex-husband, actor Ben Affleck, on the set of “Gigli” and began dating him in 2002. He proposed in November 2002 with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring, and the engagement ended in 2004. Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme, both 18; Affleck married Jennifer Garner and had three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. The two reunited in 2021, married in Las Vegas in July 2022 and held a larger celebration in Georgia a month later. Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, and the divorce was finalized in January 2025, about two and a half years after the wedding.
In a September 2025 interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning,” Lopez said the breakup changed her and pushed her to grow into someone more self-aware than she had been a year earlier. The divorce, she said, was “the best thing that ever happened to me.”
She filmed “Kiss of the Spider Woman” through the split, a movie Affleck executive produced and his company, Artists Equity, financed. Lopez has described the shoot as a happy place to be during a tough stretch at home, and she has given Affleck credit for getting it made after she told him how badly she wanted the part. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, the same month the divorce became final. In an interview with GQ, Affleck said his life is fairly undramatic and that he respects Lopez, adding that he does not fault the different ways the two handle public attention.
The Year She Canceled the Tours
On March 11, 2026, Lopez appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and described hitting pause on everything. She took a year off, canceled tours and stayed home with her twins rather than outrun the breakup through work or a new relationship, she said. She also said she stopped looking for someone else to blame, because that was not where the lesson was.
“I’m in my happy era,” Lopez said during the appearance, adding that she feels free and on her own for the first time since her early 20s. Asked whether she had waded back into dating, she joked that she did not want to ruin a good thing. She made the comments while headlining a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.
On the June 15 episode of the podcast “SmartLess,” Lopez returned to the same stretch of time, addressing the split and the tour she canceled amid speculation about trouble in the marriage. Rumors of strain had been swirling since May 2024. On the podcast, she took blame for the divorce and said the work she needed to do was on herself.
Two weeks later, on the internet talk show “Subway Takes,” she went further. “Breakups are not a failure. I honestly feel like it’s a launchpad into your next best self,” Lopez said, adding that “the biggest growth spurts I’ve had emotionally, mentally, psychologically have always come from a heartbreak.”
Neither Lopez nor Goldstein has publicly confirmed a relationship since the October party, which leaves the public record at one shared car, two separate entrances and a very engaged comment section.
